Balance is a verb.
Balnc is a health tracking app, built in Denver, that brings your nutrition, supplements, fasting, sleep and wearable data into one dashboard. An AI coach then reads them together and explains, in plain language, which habits are actually moving your numbers.
Why does Balnc exist?
Most people who take their health seriously end up with five apps: one for food, one for fasting, one for supplements, one for their watch and a notes app for everything else. Each one knows a slice of the picture, so none of them can tell you why last night’s sleep was bad or whether the magnesium is doing anything.
Balnc puts those slices in one place and reads them together. The point is not more data. It is fewer, better explanations, grounded in your own numbers instead of a generic population average.
Where does Balnc’s nutrition and supplement data come from?
Supplement labels come from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD), which the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements maintains from the labels of products sold in the United States. Barcode lookups also use Open Food Facts, an open, crowd-sourced product database.
Your intake is tracked against recommended daily allowances, so a vitamin D or iron figure is shown as a share of what you need rather than as a bare number.
How does Balnc protect my health data?
Sensitive fields are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, using a key derived separately for each user. That covers your health profile and goals, dietary restrictions, cycle dates, symptoms and mood notes, the facts the AI coach remembers about you, and the tokens that connect your wearables. Other data, such as food logs, supplements, sleep and fasting records, is protected by access controls but is not field-encrypted.
You stay in control of what is kept. Under the Privacy Policy, disconnecting an integration deletes the data that came from it straight away, deleting your account removes your personal data within 30 days, and Balnc does not sell, rent or lease personal data. When you ask the AI coach a question, the relevant parts of your data are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the answer, and you can review or delete what the coach remembers in Settings.
Is Balnc medical advice?
No. Balnc is an informational tool. Its calculations and AI-generated suggestions are for general and educational purposes and are not a substitute for advice, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare provider. Every new user reads and accepts this before they start.
