A daily health score that explains itself
Balnc’s daily health score rates yesterday from 0 to 10 across five categories: sleep, nutrition, activity, fasting and supplements. Each morning an AI-written summary explains what drove the number, flags achievements and concerns, notes how your scores have trended over the past week, and suggests one thing to try today.
How is the Balnc health score calculated?
Each category gets its own 0–10 score, and the overall score is a weighted average. Categories you don’t track are skipped, so the overall number only reflects what you actually log.
The sleep score itself blends duration (7 to 9 hours scores best) at 40%, sleep quality at 30% and HRV at 30%.
| Category | Weight | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Nutrition | 30% | Your food log for the day |
| Sleep | 25% | Duration, sleep quality and HRV |
| Activity | 20% | Steps against your goal, active calories and intensity minutes |
| Fasting | 15% | How much of each fast you completed against its target |
| Supplements | 10% | How many of your planned supplements you took |
What does the morning summary include?
The summary is written by Claude from yesterday’s data and your scores over the last seven days.
- Two or three short paragraphs on how yesterday went.
- Insights, each marked as an achievement, a concern or a suggestion.
- Patterns, marked as improving, declining or stable.
- One tip for today.
When does the summary arrive?
It is generated between 6 and 8 a.m. in your own time zone, followed by a notification. Weekly and monthly trends let you step back from a single day. The daily summary is part of the Premium plan.
Patterns in the summary are written by the AI from your recent scores rather than by statistical tests, so treat them as a prompt to look closer, not as proof of cause and effect.
